Daughter Day

Spring is all about new things. How fitting a time then for us to start a new thing. This May 28th, join us in our very first Daughter Day. A day dedicated to the ones in our lives that are surgar and spice and everything nice, who are fierce and strong and not often wrong.

This new day is embedded in a whole bunch of exciting events at Evergreen. Take a look at what's coming up here onsite:
  • We start with Ladies Retreat which kicks off in only 10 days. We're completely full again for the second year in a row!
  • Our Spring Fundraiser is on May 6th and it's a Star Wars theme! We're so excited about this fun, light-hearted evening whose purpose is to support the work at Evergreen. We will be serving an amazing meal, offering live and silent Auction items and evening entertainment from Gery Schubert.
  • Daughter Day is on May 28th! It will start with a chapel, picnic lunch, activities, and finish off with a special dinner. Head to our website to check out the details. Registration will go live next Wednesday.
  • Father/Son Retreat on June 9-11th.
  • Our AGM and Open House closes out the month and school year before summer starts!
All this...in only three months. CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE IT! Summer starts in less than 3.5 months. I'm just bubbling with excitement. These next five events really do usher in summer. We really hope you'll join us for them.

Jug 'n' Jog. If the world could just play more Jug 'n' Jog - I think it would be a happier place. It is quite possibly the number one, most singularly enjoyed game at camp. In fact - there are times when I think kids could come to camp, only play Jug 'n' Jog and leave being the happiest kids on Earth. In fact, we could almost be renamed Camp Jug 'n' Jog. And it's also funny - my computer or iPhone doesn't even recognize the words or phrase as being a spell check. That's when you know you talk about something a lot. You might think that those opening statements are strange or even foreign - maybe you don't even know what Jug 'n' Jog is...well, let me tell you! It's epic, it's fantastic, and it's played with recycling (we have to be good stewards, you know). thanks for stopping by. this is a new thing for us so bear with us as we figure out technology. basically we started this blog to create a place where all of our friends can come visit us 24/7/365. and by friends i mean you...yeah you...campers, kids who visit us from schools, church groups, retreaters...and anybody you might haul along for the ride. we'll keep you informed as to what's on the dL as far as programming goes and what the happenings are at camp...and maybe some funny stories to go along with those. please check out Camp Evergreen's main site for any contact information. well - i've gotta get and start prepping for our sr. high retreat this next weekend (sept. 15-17th). until next time this is courtney (aka c-bear...aka cort) signing out. stay strong in his grip.

brrrrrr - c-bear hates winter

well the temperature doesn't look like it's going up anymore. i think that we have one day this next week that is double digits. YUCK. i am not looking forward to dealing with icy roads and snow. i just like to think about the YA HA TINDA (which is where we do our Adventure Camps - see the picture above...that's Big Horn Creek). i love the green grass and even drip drip drop. drip drip drop would not be a very good idea in the winter...no - definitely not a good idea. but i guess that there are always things that you can't do in the summer. so why don't you help me in listing things that you would love to do in the winter that you can't do (or atleast not very well) in the summer. here's a couple examples: 1. tobogganing sucks in the summer 2. although i've never tried it, i hear that ice skating outside doesn't work very well so...let's poo poo summer a bit (maybe that will make me feel better about winter)...i look
